Study on the profile of artistic and cultural professionals in South Mediterranean (2007)

The study on the profile of artistic and cultural professionals in non-EU Mediterranean countries (Étude sur le Profil des professionnels artistiques et culturels en Méditerranée non Européenne) deals with legal and social aspects related to the work of artists and cultural operators in the region. It also deals with the social recognition of the artists and the role of mobility in the recognition of the artist and the dialogue between cultures.

Mobility & Touring in East Africa: new publication by AMA - Art Moves Africa

Art Moves Africa (AMA) proudly presents « Mobility &Touring in East Africa », a research commissioned in 2011 and implemented by Hildegard Kiel on the performing arts sector in East Africa. The objective of the research was to identify the main actors of the performing arts field in East Africa and to analyse the relevance and frequency of artistic mobility from that geographical area towards the whole African continent.

Touring in Scandinavia and the Baltics. Seminar 17-18 November 2011 - publication

Report of the seminar organised in November 2011 in Helsinki, Finland by International Theatre Festival Baltic Circle (Q-Teatteri). The seminar presented new sustainable models for regional and cross-border co-operation and opened discussion on international mobility outside big cities. The speakers were professionals from the field of theatre, dance, circus and performance art from Nordic and Baltic states.

Information Standards for the Mobility of Artists and Cultural Professionals - Dec. 2011

As foreseen in the Work Plan for Culture 2011-2014, the European Commission set up in May 2011 an EU expert group on mobility information standards to develop common content and quality standards for information and advice relating to the mobility of artists and cultural professionals. The group included On the Move, and worked out a document entitled "information standards for the mobility of artists and cultural professionals" which offers policy makers in the EU Members States with practical guidance for setting up information services in their countries.

IN TRANSIT. A study on international law and the mobility of artists, art works, cultural goods and services

The aim of the IN TRANSIT study is to provide an overview of the main international legal instruments which impact on the mobility of artists, art works, cultural goods and services. Case studies of bilateral and multilateral legal agreements give practical insight into how legal instruments are used by countries across the world to enhance cross- border mobility. The study was commissioned by the UNESCO to Richard Poláček & Judith Staines and is now available in English and French.

New study shows that European repertoire struggles to cross borders within the EU

Music repertoire from the European Union is widely played on radio and downloaded by consumers in the EU, but artists from the region struggle to achieve recognition and success within EU countries. The results of an extensive study about the cross border flow of music repertoire within the EU, carried out by European Music Office, in partnership with Eurosonic Noordeslag and Nielsen, in January 2012.
